Inspired by a recording of an IBM mainframe computer which Jóhann’s father made on a reel-to-reel tape machine more than 30 years ago, "IBM 1401" was recorded by a sixty-piece string orchestra which added to incorporated electronics of the original tape.

"Character", the cellist third album, refines the layering technique with which different cello motifs are interwoven. As an accompaniment to her actual instrument, she plays natural and ambient noises, which work as a kind of substitute voice.
On her fourth work, Julia Kent again masterfully combines the sound of the cello with electronic music, creating a completely unique acoustic world, which can be both mysterious and moving. Limited vinyl version including CD.
