The sound of the iron heel of Black Metal trampling the face of musical modernity. The underlying spirit is one of action. There is melancholy, bitterness, and filth, yet the album's foremost characteristics is its relentless surge of determination.

The return of a classic dark wave band from the 80’s, this time with a more minimalistic approach (in the vein of Joy Division, for instance), but quite dark, elegant, melodic, very gothic and still sweetly melancholic.
Mizar return, bringing in Byzantine and Eastern Orthodox choirs and influences which come to add distinct touch to their original Dark Wave / Neo-Folk sound. Recommended!

Molchat Doma's 2017 debut stands at the intersection of Post-Punk, New-Wave and Synth-Pop. Dark yet danceable, and with a heavy dose of Goth ethos, their music is reminiscent of the masters that predate them yet creates their own recognizable sound.
A testament to change in difficult times, a love letter to the digital pulse of the `90s, and a technicolor reinvention of the band's somber Dancefloor anthems. "Belaya Polosa" propels them into a new direction while retaining their cold minimalism.

The first Mono album in 15 years to feature no orchestral instruments whatsoever. This is their blackest album ever, a collection of scorched riffs, Doom rhythms, and an unexpected contribution from Post-Hardcore pioneer Tetsu Fukagawa of Envy.
Two bands from very different cultural origins, Japan and Germany, yet spiritually akin and connected by many similarities: a cinematic approach to music, based on lengthy, escalating compositions...
Unlike the last double album “The Last Dawn / Rays Of Darkness”, which re-visited the band’s early sound, Mono introduces strings once again, showing broader dynamics and a wider range of sounds.
A departure from all that's gone before. It is the sound of a band heading in different directions, and coming together all at once. It is the sound of a band exploring their dark side and opening up to the light simultaneously.
On "Nowhere Now Here", Mono add electronics to their repertoire – perhaps inspired by guitarist/composer Takaakira ‘Taka’ Goto’s recent project with John McEntire, the beguiling Behind the Shadow Drops. Tamaki also makes her vocal debut here.
"Pilgrimage..." not only represents the peaks and valleys where Mono are now as they enter their thirddecade, but also charts their long, steady journey to this time and place, in their most dynamic album to date (and that's saying a lot).
On their 12th full-length album, "Oath", recorded and mixed with longtime friend and collaborator, Steve Albini, Mono ponder the time that makes up life, and how to make the most of that time, graceful and blissful as ever.
"Forever Home..." celebrates Mono's 25th Anniversary world tour, featuring a 12-piece orchestra supporting the band as they perform "Oath", in its entirety over a 100-minute concert which concludes with a pair of their most iconic songs.

A work as dense and profound as the void itself – a chaotic, shape-shifting force that drags the listener to the brink of the abyss. “Austere Dawning” delves deep into the turbulent realms of cutting-edge Black Metal.
One of the most musically experimental albums ever released while still structurally carved into ethereal Wave, Gothic Rock and Doom Metal, with an avant-garde, Middle Eastern-inspired sound. Highly recommended.

Carried by grief, loss and the abyss of emotional pain, Morast have managed to turn this energy into a celebrating resurrection. A dark and sinister atmosphere is still inherent, but the approach seems more aggressive, ecstatic and raw.

The sound of a world with internet access and passport visas! “Uncannily, for a band from a southern port near the Ukraine border, Motorama resemble a bunch of New Yorkers emulatin the sound of 80s Manchester (...)” (BBC).
Motorama's first full-lenght album follows a number self-released CDRs singles & EPs, and brings an unmistakable clash of new wave, a distinct British 80s sound and a smattering of dance beats and monotone vocals.
Motorama's returns with their special melodies, harmonies and lyrics, faithful to their familiar DIY attitude. "Dialogues" brings Pop infused with surprising melancholy, enhanced by breathtaking texts, stubborn keyboards and round yet dynamic basslines.
It´s safe to say that after 25 years Motorpsycho has cemented their position as an institution in Norwegian music, no Rock band has even been close to achieving the same status when it comes to longterm quality, credibility, integrity and respect.
The music on this album was written for a project Motorpsycho was invited to be a part of by Trøndelag Teater in early 2015, and this nice solid hardback book includes also a DVD of the performance. Lim. 1500 copies!
"The Crucible" starts where "The Tower" ended, but it soon takes on its own hue, summing up the extremes from the most Neanderthal of rock riffs to the most rhythmically oblique polytonal solo sections they’ve ever recorded.
The initial idea was to collect big riffs on one album and do a pure Hard Rock record, but the objective changed along the way as they rediscovered their folkish bent and how this lighter touch gave it all a nice contrast.
Much of the music here somehow continues in the manner of the band’s popular long form “N.O.X.” suite from "The All Is One" album, ranging from pretty frantic and angular to grandiose and hypnotic.
A companion piece to a movie of the same name directed by Carmen Burguess, and without question this is their most refined and cohesive statement so far, finding their own niche in that special place reserved for bands like Einstürzende Neubauten or Coil.

Classical meets glitchy Electronica. Six compositions prepared for a site-specific commission at Château de Versailles, derived entirely from recordings of 17th century baroque instruments (harpsichord, viola da gamba, flute and violin) and mezzo soprano.
A dramatic departure from previous wors. Truly monumental in scale, "Cosmos" is composed almost entirely of recordings of classical instruments, a process which Corona describes as "expanding the possibilities of acoustic instruments through electronics".
The original soundtrack for the "Lost In Time" film blends the aria of the Goldberg Variations sung by Les Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal with a piece by Murcof. "Lost in Time" plunges us into perpetual renewal, each ending leading to a new beginning.
18.50EUR approx. 26.8USD [ temp. out of stock ] : [ pre-order ]
A mammoth and visionary double album that brings together all the elements incorporated into the project to date - meticulous sound design, ghostly samples, forceful beats, diaphanous atmosphere - pushed further in terms of both abstraction and beauty.
Murcof takes a bold step forward, embracing a distinctly cinematic and dystopian narrative influenced by science fiction films of the 1980s, which immerses the listener in atmospheres that are at times dark, at times filled with nostalgic brightness.
A new chapter in the sick crusade against false, relaxing, soft, easy-listening music. A sonic excursion in the realms of noise, conceptually based upon the “work” of the sadly famous russian serial killer Andrej Chikatilo.
Are you searching for something beyond this world but yet down to earth? Are you longing for that eerie sound which made you shiver? Look no further, Murg are coming for you with the face of an un-tamed Black Metal relic from the past.
Risen from the ashes of what once was, this piece of art appears with the full fiery force of contemporary Black Metal. In a ferocious dance among coal dust and mists "Gudatall" occupies our senses with a strong sense of innovation and loneliness.
The long audial march to the altar of cosmic destruction. Murg's pitch Black Metal is driven by slow-paced, churning riffs imbued with stoic darkness and aggressive pride, sinister and somber meandering throughout its eight tracks.
1990's "Wants Verses Needs" displayed a more electronic style, paying tribute to the United Kingdom power house Squeeze (band) by doing a dark version of "Take Me I'm Yours", and featured also the Belgium top ten dance track "Sunshine".
