Neo Classical/Heavenly Voices.
One
of the earlier works by the people that later on came to form Les Sécrets
de Morphée. Iris’ typical fairy voices are again well represented
on “La Prana”, and, just as well, the band have used fairy-like imagery
for some of the visual concept here, but still, the album comes across
as a grievous trip through melancholic sceneries, with short occasional
glances into medieval times. There’s hardly a smile on these fairy’s faces
and their wings seem to have lost their magic glitter, even though they
retain their beauty… Sad melodies, funeral march-like paced percussions,
acoustic guitars, mournful female vocals and intriguing male vocals in
a strange dialect merge in unique musical fragments, clad in a sweet introspective
nostalgia that should appeal to fans of The Moon Lay Hidden Beneath
A Cloud’s less militaristic material (although XVIIº Vie’s
material is adorned with superior vocal delivery), or Ataraxia.
