Their third album. After leading us into a Neo-Classical soundscape and battlefield atmosphere on "Heimat...", they now close the circle to "...Fields" and present a heroic acoustic album with German and English vocals and an omnipresent melancholic touch
With "Flammende Welt", Darkwood presents the third part of a Triptychon (1st part was the "In the Fields" CD, 2nd part was "Heimat und Jugend"), dedicated to the Struggle of Europe.
Darkwood considers itself as a project arisen from the idea to express the natural love we feel for the homeland we have been born into and which we can identify with. Darkwood is Henryk Vogel supported by several friends who share the same ideas.
The music is a fusion of traditional themes and avantgardistic soundscapes. Acoustic instruments like guitar, cello or recorder are used as well as synthetic noises and samples completed by minimal or orchestral drum parts. Resolute or melancholic singing and spoken words from time to time supported by an angelic female voice emphasize the general impression.
The past hangs above us like a bloody sword. We are overshaded by the pain of war, hindered love for our homeland and forgotten beauty of tradition and nature.
For this recording Darkwood was Henryk Vogel with Nadja S. on cello.
